#TBRTakedown 4.0 TBR

June 20th – 26th @TBRTAKEDOWN

I haven’t been reading much lately and it’s driving me crazy. This is one of my favorite read-a-thons and I participate every single time. Hopefully this will get me reading again. I don’t expect to complete all the challenges. Honestly, if I can get two books read, I will be happy. Here are the books I picked out…

Challenges/TBR:

  1. TBR over a year [longest] – The Final Descent by Rick Yancey
  2. Sequel – God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert
  3. First book in a series – Rat Queens Vol. 1: Sass & Sorcery by Kurtis J. Wiebe (Writer), Roc Upchurch (Illustrator)
  4. Out of comfort zone [whatever that means for you] – Day of the Wolf by Charles G. West – Currently Reading
  5. Most Recent Book Haul – The Tudor Throne by Brandy Purdy

Sci-Fi Summer Read-a-Thon TBR

I will most likely start with God Emperor of Dune. I love this series and I really want to get back into it. The Star Wars book is the last one in the Thrawn Trilogy, so it would be nice to finish that off. I would also really like to get to Janus since my dad got it for me years ago. I’m not sure if I will be able to read all three of these. My goal is the first two and Janus is there just in case I actually finish early and can squeeze another book in.

April 10th – 17th

Since my health hasn’t been so great this year, I am only going for three books. I would love to read more, but I don’t even know if I can get through what I’ve picked out. Normally it would be easy to get through these three, since they are all short, but I don’t know how I will be feeling. I will give it my best shot. 🙂

  1. The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (Play) – 5 Stars
  2. Tokyo Ghoul Vol. 3 by Sui Ishida (Manga) – 3 Stars
  3. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (Young Adult) – 4 Stars

#TBRTakedown 3.5 TBR

April 8th – 10th @TBRTAKEDOWN

I’m not sure how well I’m going to do because I’m sick again (third time this year), but I’m going to give it a try. Wish me luck. 🙂

Challenges/TBR:

1. Standalone – Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
2. Most Recent Haul – The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
3. Catch Up in a Series – The Final Descent (The Monstrumologist #4) by Rick Yancey
4. TBR Shelf Over a Year (or the longest) – Death Note: Black Edition, Vol. 1 (Death Note #1-2) by Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata

This months theme: horror & suspense

Since I am trying to only read review copies and Goodwill books right now (Bookshelf Love), I had a hard time finding books to fit this months theme. Here is what I picked out:

#UnderHypedReads Wrap Up

I know that I shouldn’t be disappointed in myself for not reading more, considering I usually completely fail read-a-thons. Still I wish I could have read at least one more book. Anyways, here is what I read:

I also started What We Hide by Marthe Jocelyn but didn’t get too far. Maybe about 25 pages. So far it’s a bit meh, but I’m sure once I get about 50 or so pages in, it will be better. It just hasn’t grabbed me from the start. Hopefully I can finish that one up by tomorrow.

Did you participate in this read-a-thon? If you did, how much did you get read? What did you read? Are you happy with how you did? I hope you are, and that you had a lot of fun. 🙂
